WilderSkills Teen High Sierra Backpacking Skills Adventure
WilderSkills is excited to offer older WilderSkills campers the opportunity to attend our 6 day / 5 night backpacking adventure program in the High Sierras! This brand new experience will be the adventure of a lifetime as campers complete a 6 day / 20 mile hike-through adventure.
This Overnight Backpacking Adventure camp program offers WilderSkills campers a more focused opportunity to learn multi-day overnight outdoor adventure skills like ultralight backpacking skills, first aid training, overnight camping, outdoor cooking, games, overland navigation, sleeping under the stars, survival skills training, and more!
WilderSkills Staff: WilderSkills staff guides are highly experienced and trained outdoor guides and youth wilderness educators. Our staff is comprised of both male and female guides. Safety is a top priority and all trips have multiple guides as well as very low camper-to-staff ratio of less than 5 to 1 campers to guides for High Sierras trips.
Location/Distance : WilderSkills overnight backpacking adventures take place in many locations. For 2022, our High Sierras backpacking adventure will start out in Forest Hill, CA on private land. We expect to complete overall trail mileage of around 20 miles over 6 days.

Physical Requirements?
Campers must be physically fit enough to complete paced hikes (with plenty of breaks) of up to 5-6 miles a day (though daily mileage will sometimes be less). Campers will be expected to carry a hiking pack with a weight of roughly 30 pounds) It's perfectly fine if they have never backpacked or camped before, but experience definitely helps. COVID-19 Updates:
WilderSkills programs intend to comply with local regulations pertaining to public gatherings and COVID-19 Guidance.
Illness & Covid-19 Refunds: If a camper or family member is tests positive in the week prior to the trip with COVID-19 and a cannot attend. A refund will be granted in such a case, less a 4% processing fee, with written proof of positive COVID-19 test results of a household member or the camper being provided.
