WilderSkills Family Camp-out & Outdoor Skills Weekends!
Enjoy Expert-Guided Camping Adventures, Family Wilderness Skills Development, and Nature Free-time as a Family, Monthly!
“We have such a brief opportunity to pass on to our children our love for this Earth, and to tell our stories. These are the moments when the world is made whole. In my children’s memories, the adventures we’ve had together in nature will always exist.”
― Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder
Families enrolling in WilderSkills Family Campouts gain monthly wilderness mentorship and a “home-away-from-home” experience as they embrace the outdoors, together.
Gather around the fire, share stories, cook together, and learn an additional wilderness skill or two from the experts!. Whether it is practicing friction fire and blowing a coal into flame, or having your child help you master the art of coal-blowing a spoon or bowl, we want you with us.
Adventures are led by some of the finest Outdoor Survival Guides, Naturalists, and Primitive Living Skills Instructors in the United States!
“Time in nature is not leisure time; it’s an essential investment in our children’s health (and also, by the way, in our own).”
― Richard Louv

Family Campout Program Structure:
Campout structure is fairly fluid. Families can show up at or after 5:30pm, and get settled in! Experts will share a wilderness skill or two after setup for all to master as desired, after which there will be plenty of free-time to play, cook, eat, and explore!
Short nightly campfire activities will be held (think storytelling and roasting marshmallows) and then retire for the evening or continue quiet conversation around the fire as others fall asleep.
Come spend quality time connecting as a family in nature, capture memories, let your kids run around and play, and fall asleep to the sounds of the creek.
